Girls on the Run (Spring Race) Street Closures

CINCINNATI, OH – Girls on the Run is a transformational learning program for 8- to 13-year-old girls that teaches life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event. The goal of the program is to unleash confidence through accomplishment while establishing a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness. The Girls on the Run will hold their spring race this Saturday, May 9, 2026. In order for this race to be held, the following streets will close at 830AM and remain closed until approximately 1200PM:
- Mehring Way- closed between Elm Street and Joe Nuxhall Way (Closes at 6AM for START Line Construction)
- Mehring Way- closed between Freeman Avenue and E Pete Rose Way
- Joe Nuxhall Way- closed south of Second Street
- Ramp LL- closed
- Johnny Bench Way- closed
- E Pete Rose Way- closed between Broadway and Johnny Bench Way
- Central Avenue- closed from Third Street to Mehring Way
- W Pete Rose Way- closed between Gest Street and Central Avenue
- Third Street- eastbound closed between Gest Street and Central Avenue
- Clay Wade Bailey Brdg- southbound closed/ northbound closed from Second St and Third St
- Gest Street- closed between Mehring Way and Third Street
- Elm Street- closed south of Freedom Way
Local and emergency traffic will be maintained at all times. Motorists not destined for the event area are encouraged to use alternate routes.
