City Begins Sending Relief Checks to Residents Impacted by July Flooding
The City of Cincinnati, through the newly established Department of Opportunity and Resident Services, has sent the first round of checks providing supplemental relief funds to those impacted by severe flash flooding in mid-July.
In the days following the flooding, the City established a hotline (513-323-7995) for impacted residents to call and begin the relief process. This does not preclude those who also filed a Sewer Back-Up (SBU) claim with MSD. Residents who qualify can expect to see checks in the coming days and weeks. Hundreds of checks have already been issued and sent to qualifying residents.
The gist: Hundreds of relief checks are already out, with more going out to qualifying residents in the coming weeks.
Voting closes tomorrow for the BuildReady Design Competition! — your chance to help pick designs that will inform the final look of pre-approved multi-family plans intended to speed up the development process in Cincinnati neighborhoods.
Here's how to vote: browse the two-, three-, and four-family submissions (we'd suggest opening them in separate browser windows, or printing them out, so you can compare side by side). Note which designs you like best, then click "People's Choice" to cast your votes, up to three per building type. Don't wait — the window closes TOMORROW, September 2!
The gist: Your vote helps decide which housing designs move forward, with winners announced at a September 14 Awards Ceremony.
