Ault Park Advisory Council is working closely with the Cincinnati Parks Conservation & Land Management Team on forest restoration. One of the first things that has been identified as a priority is trail corridor clearance. This work involves cutting back invasive plants such as honeysuckle, privet, and burning bush and treating the stumps. Volunteer Group Leaders will provide an orientation and direct the work.
Volunteers should be prepared for the weather in clothing appropriate for the temperature, wear long pants and layers (long sleeves), close-toed shoes are required. Suggested: work gloves & refillable water bottle. Cincinnati Parks discourages single - use plastics.
This year, 4 US astronauts are destined to leave our planet and circle the Moon in humanity's first return to lunar orbit since the Apollo Era. Dr. Wes Ryle from the Cincinnati Observatory will overview the Artemis program, including plans to return humans to the lunar surface before 2030. Weather permitting, stick around for telescope views of the Moon, Jupiter, and more!
Join astronomer Dean Regas as he and a dozen of his fellow stargazers show off their telescopes. Explore the many different telescope designs, ask questions with the experts, and see what equipment you can use to see and photograph astronomical events yourself. We will also have food available for purchase from Cheese N Chong Food Truck. Join us for this truly unique experience in beautiful Ault Park! Weather permitting, there will be viewing of the moon and stars.
