Underground Railroad: Ravine to Freedom Presentation & Hike
Start off with a short historical exhibit of local ties to the Underground Railroad, then take a winter hike, traversing our woods containing part of the only “undeveloped local escape route” associated with the Underground Railroad. Hear the harrowing story of the Escape of the 28 as you are guided through the cold air to consider what it may have been like to make such a life-or-death journey. Dress in layers for this indoor and outdoor event. Sturdy shoes are required; trails are rugged, steep and often muddy. Online registration for this event is required.
