Budget Engagement

Every year, the City of Cincinnati asks for community feedback on the proposed budget. As part of that process, the City looks for ways to better engage with the community and broaden outreach.

The Office of Budget and Evaluation collaborates with the Department of City Planning and Engagement to further enhance communication and engagement strategies throughout the budget process. This includes educational opportunities and a variety of public meetings. A key facet is public input.

The main goal of budget engagement is to keep the community informed and engaged throughout the process. There are multiple opportunities to participate, including online and in person at public forums.  Getting involved is encouraged.

Budget Basics Virtual Information Session 

Due to the technical difficulties associated with the Budget Basics session scheduled for March 23, 2026, a “make-up” session will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The updated Zoom registration link can be found here. Registration is required to attend.

A previous Budget Basics session recorded on August 12, 2025, is available here. The presentation scheduled for April 8, 2026, will include very similar information.

Budget, Finance & Governance Committee Public Hearings 

The City of Cincinnati’s Budget, Finance & Governance Committee are holding four public hearings to receive public input and discuss the Fiscal Year 2027 Operating and Capital Budgets on the following dates:

  • March 4, 2026-5:30 P.M. at City Hall Council Chambers 801 Plum Street, Room 300 Cincinnati, OH 45202
  • March 11, 2026-5:30 P.M. at North Avondale Recreation Center 617 Clinton Springs Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229
  • March 16, 2026-5:30 P.M. at Sayler Park Recreation Center 6720 Home City Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45233
  • June 1, 2026-5:30 P.M. (subject to change) at City Hall Council Chambers 801 Plum Street, Room 300 Cincinnati, OH 45202

Leveraged Support Workshop 

The Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) hosted a virtual workshop to support organizations in strengthening their FY27 Leveraged Support Funding applications.  This workshop provided actionable strategies to help applicants develop stronger, data-driven proposals that align with the goals of the Leveraged Support Funding. The virtual workshop was hosted at 2 p.m. on March 13, 2026.
