City Expands Bicycle Parking For MidPoint Music Festival
On-Street Metered Parking Spaces Will Be Converted Into Temporary Bike Corrals
For the second year in a row the City of Cincinnati has partnered with the organizers of the MidPoint Music Festival to make the event more bike-friendly.
The City will convert nine on-street metered parking spaces into bicycle-only parking spaces, each with a lockable bike corral that can accommodate 12 bicycles. These temporary spaces are in addition to the numerous permanent bicycle racks already located throughout Downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine.
"We want to encourage festival goers to try going carless this year. With all of the venues located in such a compact area in OTR and Downtown, this is a great opportunity to experience how easy it is to get around town on a bicycle," said Michael Moore, Director of the Department of Transportation & Engineering.
A map showing festival venues and bicycle parking is available here.
The MidPoint Music Festival begins Thursday, Sept. 27 and runs through Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.
