A local focus brings the history of the Underground Railroad to life. Take a winter hike, traversing our woods containing part of the only “undeveloped local escape route” associated with the Underground Railroad. Consider what it may have been like for freedom seekers trying to make a life-or-death journey while hearing the story of the Escape of the 28. Hands-on activities help broaden understanding of this difficult time in American history. Dress in layers for indoor and outdoor activities. Sturdy shoes are required; trails are rugged, steep and often muddy.  Appropriate for Junior and Cadet Girl Scouts.

$6 per scout/chaperone, leaders are free
